Netbeans tips & tricks for running PHP and Node scripts

In this article I'd like to share some tips on creating and running various script based projects (i.e. projects in which you run something in command line). No Grunt or any other additional helper application is required. You just need Netbeans.

Also added a bonus on setting up PHP debugging (XDebug) on Windows.

How about a game of CSS chess?

There are some new CSS selectors which let you cleanup your HTML from unwanted classes. One of them is :nth-child which let you make a chess board with not a single trace of JaveScript and no classes in table cells. I write this in present tense, but as I wrote before - many CSS selectors and other neat stuff is missing in IE8. Please install updates or different browsers to your friends and neighbors. You can track your progress on IE8 countdown page ;-).

The app was created much before new version of the new m.meteo.pl page. This new page has similar capabilities and (thanks to ICM support) is better integrated with the original service. My app is more geek/hacker style ;-).

compass

Earlier this year I wrote an article about HTML compass madnessRecently, I had to work on this a bit more to make the code more stable and universal... and so WebCompass project was born. It's now not only purely in-browser compass but can also use PhoneGap API if available. This way it will use a native compass in a more direct manner which should make it more accurate and greatly simplifies calibration.

IE8 must die!

I know what you think - Internet Explorer, argh! But thankfully, IE6 is dead. IE7 share is also rapidly diminishing. What about IE8? Unfortunately IE8 is the top most IE on Windows XP. And this is a favorite Windows distribution for many users still. Long live IE8? Please, no. Here is why...

JSWikiGantt is a MediaWiki extension that aims to allow adding Gantt charts (diagrams) to wiki pages without the need of exporting diagrams to PNG. This is achieved by allowing users to add simple XML definition of diagrams in tag. Currently only one diagram per page is allowed (which is due to the limitations of the original JSGantt).
